Oil Jitters Stall the Tape, AI Holds the Line

Right now the S&P 500 sits at 7,772.89, down 0.17%, while the Nasdaq's basically flat at 26,732.86, up a whisper of 0.01%. Both indices have lost a bit more steam since my last check-in, and it feels like the renewed Hormuz Strait tension between the US and Iran—oil spiking back up, Dow futures pulling back—is what's putting everyone on edge. Quantum computing and AI names are still carrying their weight though, keeping the Nasdaq out of red territory, while cybersecurity stocks are the ones sagging on the other side. In my own book, Microsoft's still up 21.8%, Nvidia up 6.8%, Freeport-McMoRan up 9.4%—all smiling—while Schlumberger's sitting at a mild -0.7%. With over three hours left before the close, I'll be watching whether this Middle East oil story grows louder or the AI/quantum strength manages to drag the whole tape up with it.
