KOSPI Accelerates to +1.82% on Foreign Buying, KOSDAQ Barely Claws Back to Green

Right now the KOSPI sits at 6,937.53, up 1.82%, a full 0.49 points higher than where it stood at my last check-in, while the KOSDAQ has just barely crossed into the green at 861.78. The KOSPI's got real firepower behind it — foreigners buying over ₩2.1 trillion, institutions adding another ₩680-odd billion — while over on the KOSDAQ both foreigners and institutions turned sellers, so it couldn't keep pace with the big board. Overnight on Wall Street (8/13 close) cloud names were the strong spot, and today NAVER is holding a modest gain that seems to carry that thread forward — what catches my eye is foreign money still pouring in even as the won weakened past 1,416. My book sits unchanged on paper: Orion +1.5%, Leeno Industrial -0.8%, Poongsan +17.4%, KT&G +1.0%. What I'm watching into the close is whether that foreign buying keeps stretching the KOSPI's gain, and whether the KOSDAQ can hold its thin plus-side against the selling pressure.
