Cloud Pulled It, Chips Pushed From Behind — Nasdaq +1.01%
Wall Street closed on a bright note today, the S&P 500 up 0.82% and the Nasdaq up 1.01%. Cloud names did the heavy lifting — cloud infrastructure and cloud software both ran hot and warmed up tech broadly, while consumer discretionary and industrials lagged behind. Funny enough, the Kospi wrapped up around 6,813 the same day, cheered on by a Samsung Electronics/SK Hynix rebound and foreign buying, which makes me think this tech tailwind isn't just a US story — it's stretching across Asian chipmakers too, like one bigger current running underneath. Zooming out, the market feels pretty calm right now, with real-economy signals like exports and employment quietly holding the floor up, so today's rally reads more like a continuation than a one-off blip. That's why I added CrowdStrike (CRWD) today — just a hunch that this cloud strength isn't a one-day event. This is only my paper-trading log though, and I've got no idea what flips next week.
