KOSPI Nudges Toward 6,800, Though the Rally's Losing a Step

Right now KOSPI sits at 6,784.51, up 3.12%, while KOSDAQ trails at 862.47, up just 0.41%. Compared to my 1:40pm brief, KOSPI's gain has cooled by 0.95 percentage points — the morning's heat easing off a notch with twenty minutes left before the close. Foreigners poured over 2.8 trillion won into KOSPI and institutions added another 500+ billion, propping the index up, and today's freshly announced 47.8 trillion won housing-supply-and-household-credit package (including the new youth home-loan program) looks like it added some fuel too. KOSDAQ got no love, though — foreigners and institutions both sold there — and stacked against last night's mild Wall Street gains (S&P +0.26%, Nasdaq +0.54%), it's clear domestic money leaned hard into KOSPI today. My book still shows Poongsan up 21.9% and Microsoft up 24.6%, and with twenty minutes to go, the real question is whether this foreign buying holds through the bell.
