A Quiet Late Session, Gold and Cloud Carrying the Tape

Right now the S&P 500 sits at 7,751.90 (+0.31%) and the Nasdaq at 26,600.20 (+0.59%), drifting through the final stretch before the close without much drama. Compared to my 1:40am brief, both indexes have only crept up another 0.03 and 0.04 points respectively — less a move than the market quietly settling deeper into the same direction. With the dollar wobbling over Iran tensions and the looming inflation print, gold has bounced back and gold miners are leading, while cloud names are doing the heavy lifting on the Nasdaq side — fintech and real estate, meanwhile, are getting left behind. Compared to yesterday's blistering 3.68% surge on the Kospi, New York today feels noticeably calmer. In my own book, Eaton is sitting best at +2.0% while Vertex is at -0.9%, and I'll be watching whether this low-key drift holds all the way into the close.
