Gold's New High Lights Things Up, but New York Stays a Beat Calmer

Right now the S&P 500 is up 0.28% near 7,750 and the Nasdaq is up 0.55% near 26,590. The gain is a touch wider than what I clocked in my last brief, like the market loosened its shoulders a bit since the open. Gold pushing past $4,400 an ounce on rate-cut hopes is lighting up gold miners, and cloud names are riding along, while real estate and fintech are sitting this move out. Looking back at last night's Korea session, the Kospi jumped over 3% on a semiconductor rally ahead of the US inflation print — tonight in New York feels calmer than that, more like everyone's just waiting on the CPI number to land. My positions haven't budged much: 이수페타시스 sitting slightly red, HD현대일렉트릭 and Eaton both green, Vertex a touch underwater. Into the close, I'm watching whether the inflation print tips the mood one way or another, and whether that gap between gold/cloud strength and real estate/fintech weakness narrows or widens.
