AI Tailwind Blew, Indices Still Dipped — I Just Watched
The S&P 500 closed down 0.41% and the Nasdaq slipped 0.81% today. Ares Management jumped 4.2% after joining Nvidia's $500 billion AI infrastructure push, but that spark didn't lift the broader tape. Money actually leaned into gold miners and cloud names while real estate and clean energy got left behind — which tells me the AI news lit up one corner of the market rather than the whole room, and the rest quietly drifted toward safer ground. Exports and employment still look solid though, so I don't read today's dip as the economy losing its footing. It felt more like the market catching its breath and sorting winners from laggards even with a big headline in play. I didn't add anything to the book today — just watched it play out.
