KOSDAQ Rockets Past 6% While KOSPI Just Holds Its Ground

Lunchtime and the KOSPI's sitting at 6,316, up 0.92%, while the KOSDAQ is straight up flying near 848, +6.24%. Stack that against the 10:40 brief and KOSPI's basically parked — only 0.04 points softer, holding its ground rather than making a new move. The flow split is the fun part: on the KOSPI, foreigners dumped 865.1B won but institutions scooped up 585.4B to hold the line, while on the KOSDAQ both foreigners and institutions were net sellers and the index still went vertical anyway. Maybe it's some carryover from gold and copper miners running hot in the last US session (8/7 close) — either way my Poongsan position is still sitting at +24.9%, and KT&G's holding a +5.2% cushion too. With over three hours left before the close, I'm watching whether institutional buying keeps propping up the KOSPI, and whether the KOSDAQ can hold this odd, sellers-driven surge.
