Kosdaq popped 4%, and I quietly added 042000 to the notebook
The Kospi only managed +0.81%, but the Kosdaq shot up 4.35% — today the muscle was clearly on the small-cap side. On the Kospi, foreigners dumped about 865 billion won while institutions stepped in with 585 billion won and hauled the index up; on the Kosdaq both foreigners and institutions were net sellers, yet the index rallied on its own, which tells me today's pop was retail firepower more than big-money conviction. Behind that firepower: President Lee revisited his megaprojects tying a semiconductor cluster to the military-airport relocation story, KB Securities put out a note saying Samsung Electronics could return up to 200 trillion won to shareholders, and mining names in gold and copper were strong too — money was rotating toward hard-asset and policy themes. Energy and utilities lagged, and in a backdrop where exports and employment are still holding up and rates and credit conditions stay friendly, it makes sense that flows tilt toward growth and theme plays over defensives. Against that backdrop I quietly slipped 042000 into the book today — whether it's a one-day blip or the start of something, I'll keep watching.
