Nasdaq shrugs off the jobs shock, widening gains with 20 minutes to the bell

With 20 minutes left before the close, the Nasdaq's holding a 1.16% gain and the S&P 500's up 0.55% — and both are actually running hotter than they were an hour ago, not cooling off. That's because July's jobs report came in weaker than expected, which took some pressure off the rate outlook and sent money pouring back into tech. Compare that to yesterday's Kospi and Kosdaq, which both closed lower — today's US session is basically running the opposite direction. Gold and copper miners are having a good day while energy and utilities lag, which tells me the market's leaning into rate-cut hopes, though with the won and the dollar both swinging around, the picture's still messy. In my own book, Amazon and Alphabet are still sitting in the red while Broadcom and Microsoft are green — into the close, I'm just watching whether this jobs-shock tailwind holds up all the way to the bell.
