Kosdaq Slips Below 800, Kospi Treads Water

Right now the Kospi sits at 6,245.29, down 0.81%, while the Kosdaq has slid to 783.24, down 2.30%, breaking below the 800 line. Compared to the last brief, Kospi barely budged but Kosdaq dug itself deeper — a sharp selloff in chip-equipment names really put the brakes on what had been a decent Kosdaq run. Overnight, Wall Street mostly idled (S&P500 -0.18%, Nasdaq -0.06%), and that quiet, cautious mood seems to have drifted over here too, with foreigners turning net sellers on both boards while local institutions are at least cushioning Kosdaq's drop with some buying. I'm just letting my positions sit where they are — Microsoft, Nvidia, and Freeport-McMoRan still showing gains, Amazon still in the red. Until the close, I'll be watching whether the chip-equipment selling eases up and whether foreign outflows calm down.
