Right now the Kospi's down 0.84% at 6,243.58, and the Kosdaq's hit harder, off 2.05% at 785.22. What's actually the story is the shift from an hour and a half ago — Kospi has clawed back more than 3 points of its earlier drop, while Kosdaq went the other way and lost over 2 more points. Kospi's holding up despite foreigners dumping over 3 trillion won and institutions selling too, while Kosdaq's getting dragged down by foreign selling plus individual names like Doosan Fuel Cell cratering double digits. Overnight in the US, both the S&P and Nasdaq closed basically flat, so this domestic drop doesn't look like it's importing US weakness — it reads more like a local flow problem, and the won's actually strong too, so it's not a currency story either. With about four and a half hours left before close, I'm watching whether Kospi keeps trimming its losses and whether that Kosdaq single-stock selloff cools off.
