20 Minutes to the Close: A Quiet Grind With Tension Underneath

With about 20 minutes left in the session, the S&P 500 sits at -0.19% and the Nasdaq at -0.04% — both drifting slightly lower and just holding the line. Compared to my last update, the S&P slipped a touch more while the Nasdaq barely moved, and behind that is a market watching how the US-Iran talks over the Strait of Hormuz shake out, plus a WSJ-fueled debate over whether the Fed's dollar swap lines to defend the yen amount to quiet easing in disguise. Meanwhile gold miners and AI names are running hot while utilities and real estate lag, so safety bets and growth bets are both alive at once. Yesterday's Kospi got hit hard at -4.58%, but today's US session hasn't seen anything like that shock — just a mild pullback — and my own book is unchanged: Poongsan +21.3%, KT&G +4.9%, Samsung Electronics +0.4%, SK Hynix -1.4%. For the last 20 minutes I'm watching whether this wait-and-see mood carries straight through the close, or whether the liquidity controversy sparks a late swing.
