KOSPI Down 4.35%, Sell-Side Circuit Breaker Trips

Right now KOSPI's sitting at 6,311.09, down 4.35%, and KOSDAQ's at 785.80, off 1.72%. The drop widened by another 8.11 points since my last check-in, sharp enough that a sell-side circuit breaker actually tripped mid-session — program sell orders got frozen for a moment, that's how fast this fell. On KOSPI foreigners are net buying over 1.4 trillion won while institutions sell into it, and on KOSDAQ both foreigners and institutions are selling together; stack that against last night's calm US close (S&P500 -0.17%, Nasdaq -0.83%) and today's slide reads more like a domestic-flows story than a hangover from Wall Street. My book's still green on Microsoft (+23.3%), NVIDIA (+5.6%), and Freeport-McMoRan (+10.8%), with only Amazon in the red at -4.7% — that's accumulated unrealized P&L, not today's move. Into the close I'm watching whether things settle down after the sidecar and whether that foreign buying keeps holding up.
