Nasdaq's the one slipping this afternoon — AI capex nerves
Right now the S&P 500 is holding a small gain at 7,743.43 (+0.09%), but the Nasdaq's sliding harder, down to 26,459.65 (-0.47%) — a wider drop than what I saw in the last brief. SpaceX beating estimates and still getting hammered more than 9% over worries about its AI infrastructure spending seems to be casting a shadow over AI names broadly. Even with yesterday's warm carryover from Korea's KOSPI closing up over 3% and the won holding firm (1,428.50), the Nasdaq can't quite ride that tailwind — feels like the market's testing how much AI-investment anxiety it can absorb right now. My own positions in Poongsan, Samsung Electronics, and Freeport-McMoRan are still sitting on double-digit paper gains, so I'm watching this calmly for now. With about an hour and a half left before the close, whether the Nasdaq's slide widens or steadies here is the last thing I'm keeping an eye on today.
