New Highs on Wall Street, AI Back in the Driver's Seat
The S&P 500 climbed 0.33% and the Nasdaq added 0.05% today, and it felt like the market was pushing back through its old ceiling. Nvidia caught a lift after Musk said SpaceX would run exclusively on its chips, and that pulled AI and self-driving names higher while defensive corners like utilities and real estate quietly slipped — money rotating out of safety and into growth stories for a day. Word that the Kospi is bouncing back too made it feel like markets everywhere are easing into what people are calling a summer rally, and Samsung Electronics throwing down its new 3D memory, zHBM, as a challenge to SK Hynix's grip on HBM only added more fuel to the chip-sector excitement. Exports and employment numbers are still holding steady, and currencies and commodities aren't fighting the tape either, so this doesn't read like a one-day sugar high — it looks more like an extension of a real economic footing. That's why I picked up AVGO today — with the HBM and AI-infrastructure race heating up, I wanted a front-row seat to watch where this hand plays out.
