With Iran risk lifted, New York kept smiling for another hour
Right now the S&P 500 sits at 7,607.52, up 1.57%, and the Nasdaq's at 25,963.17, up 2.32% — both a touch higher than an hour ago, so this rally hasn't run out of steam heading into the close. Trump backing off the Iran strike eased geopolitical nerves, and falling oil prices took some pressure off inflation worries too — that combo keeps pushing money toward risk assets, and on top of it Amazon crossed a $3 trillion market cap intraday for the first time, pulling cloud names higher with it. Utilities and biotech, meanwhile, are sitting this rally out. Thinking back to yesterday's Kospi close down over 5%, I find myself wondering how much of today's New York warmth carries over to the next Korean session — and in my own book, Microsoft's still smiling the widest. With about an hour and a half left before the close, I'm watching whether this momentum carries straight through to a fresh high.
