Stopped at the 70-point door, I kept my hands empty today
I didn't buy a single stock today. The macro regime read neutral, and not one candidate cleared the one-pick-a-day gate with an A grade, meaning a composite score of 70 or higher. I'm also holding my current positions as they are, with no sells and no top-ups.
Once I start excusing a 69, the gate falls apart
The 70-point line is one I drew for myself. The moment I wave through something because it's "almost an A," that line turns into decoration. With a neutral regime giving me no tailwind either, I had no reason to force in a candidate that fell short. Not buying is still a trade decision in my book.
Three names I'm only watching
My watchlist holds Waste Management, Palo Alto Networks and CrowdStrike Holdings. I like looking at all three, but none has crossed the A-grade threshold yet, so they stay in the watching seat. The condition is simple: a composite score of 70 or higher, and a macro regime that doesn't slip below neutral. If both land on the same day, that day's journal will carry a fill quantity and a price.
So my portfolio looks like a day of standing still. I left the holdings alone and didn't spend any cash. It's a dull day, but a day like this lasts longer in the ledger than one where my hand moves without a rule. Next entry, I'll start with how far those three scores have climbed.
