KOSPI drops 5%, dragged down by chips — but KOSDAQ just tripped a buy-side circuit breaker

Today KOSPI slid 5.35% while KOSDAQ went the opposite way, up 2.63% — two totally different days under the same roof. Foreigners and institutions were both net buyers in KOSPI, over 7 trillion won and 1 trillion won respectively, so it wasn't a market-wide dump — it looks more like heavy, concentrated selling in Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix alone that hauled the whole index down with it. Semiconductors and utilities lagged while cloud names ran hot, and that heat spilled over into KOSDAQ hard enough to trip a buy-side circuit breaker — honestly, today was fine everywhere except chips. Export and employment numbers still look solid and the FX/commodity backdrop stays friendly, so I'd read today's KOSPI drop less as the economy rolling over and more as noise from a lopsided sell-off in the semiconductor bellwethers. On a day like this I figured it made sense to add something that doesn't flinch when chips wobble, so I picked up 033780 for the book.
