KOSPI Suddenly Buckled, KOSDAQ Held Its Own

KOSPI skidded to -4.63%, a whiplash 22.54-point swing lower from my last brief, while KOSDAQ stayed positive at +2.43% but still cooled off by 9.20 points from where it was. Foreigners and institutions kept buying on both boards — over 7 trillion won worth on KOSPI alone — yet the index still caved, which points to last night's semiconductor weakness on Wall Street dragging down KOSPI's chip heavyweights. The won actually firmed, with dollar-won slipping 1.50% to the 1,420 range, so this doesn't look like a currency-driven selloff. My book still shows Microsoft +17.6%, Nvidia -3.3%, Freeport-McMoRan flat, and Poongsan -0.4%, positions I'm just holding and watching from here. With four-plus hours left before the close, I'm watching whether this drop stays contained to chip names or starts spilling into KOSDAQ too.
